Undergroundfilm is proud to present the UndergroundfilmMaker Festival. The UGFMF seeks to recognize the efforts of individuals who are committed to a life of filmmaking. The festival has three rounds: portfolio submission, filmmaker interview and new projects. Filmmakers will submit at least two films for consideration after which ten finalists will be selected for a videotaped interview. They will then each be given a short film assignment.

Current TV will be promoting the festival to its cable audience, providing finalists with pitch sessions with Current creative executives, and giving winning assignments the opportunity to have their work broadcast to Current's 40 million subscribers.
